Mike Lipskin, stride jazz pianist, has performed internationally for over 45 year, appearing at Carnegie Hall, Davies Symphony Hall, 92nd St “Y”, and created his own stride jazz sound. Mike appeared in the APTV documentary about his teacher Willie the Lion Smith, and the Great Day In Harlem documentary about the monumental 1958 jazz photo. He helped edit The Great Jazz Day book, and supplied his own photos from the Harlem shoot. In teen years he traveled to Harlem, learning from Willie The Lion, Luckey Roberts, Donald Lambert and Eubie Blake. On staff at RCA Records for 13 years: he produced historical Vintage Series reissues and new pop, jazz, and fusion albums.
Dinah Lee, jazz vocalist, has been performing traditional jazz from the Great American Songbook for years. She and Mike Lipskin now concertize in San Francisco and New York, at Mezzrow Jazz Club and other venues. Dinah worked first in Arizona with the Riverboat Ramblers, the Notables, Swingtime, her group, Men of Note and in France with Paris Washboard. From Ohio, she showed musical precociousness early and by second grade was taking piano lessens. She brings a special sound to American pop standards. The legendary record producer, Jerry Wexler, says that Dinah has her own inspiring stamp.
